Attorney Bernstein graduated from New York University in 1978 with dual bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science and was on the Dean’s List. She attended Nova University Law School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and received the Book Award for Current Constitutional Problems. She graduated in 1981, passed The Florida Bar and began working as an associate for a prestigious downtown Miami law firm, practicing family law and criminal law. She gained litigation experience handling high-profile cases in state and federal courts.
Attorney Bernstein passed the New Jersey Bar in 1983 and returned to the Northeast in 1987, having also been admitted to the New York Bar in 1987.
Experienced With Family Court And Litigation
Attorney Bernstein was associated with several prominent litigation firms before venturing out on her own more than 25 years ago. She served as editor of the New Jersey State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Newsletter. She has been appointed by the court as a guardian ad litem in cases to protect the rights of children. Her commitment to the bar is demonstrated by her continued service for 25-plus years as an early settlement panelist and blue ribbon early settlement panelist in family court matters for the courts of New Jersey. She was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court and served a four-year term as panel chair of the District VC Fee Arbitration Committee (Essex County). She served for six years as a panel member of the District VC Fee Arbitration Committee (Essex County).
